Greetings fellow readers! Today I bring you another beauty review on a product that I recently picked up and is still quite new to our shelves. I’ve been using this product for the past 4-5 weeks now so I finally have a decent opinion of it to write this short review.
Introducing: Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb 3-in-1 Day Cream!
The SkinActive range is fairly new to Garnier’s skincare selection and recently released the ‘Moisture Bomb’ set that consists of a day and night cream. These products focus on bringing ultimate hydration to the skin throughout the day and helps skin to look healthier and more youthful.
The 3-in-1 Day Cream aims to protect skin from external aggressions such as pollution and weather factors as well as providing 24hr hydration. It has been designed to have a fresh, ultra-light texture that melts into the skin immediately with no greasy or sticky after-feel, and is best suited to dehydrated skin (even sensitive skin).
It is described as a 3-in-1 product that provides anti-aging and antioxidant properties with super fruit extracts (Pomegranate and Amla) that contain natural origin glycerin to help the skin’s natural defences fight against oxidative stress caused by external aggressions and stress such as UV rays, pollution and fatigue. Combined with moisturising properties, daily UVA/UVB protection (SPF 10) and a high concentration of plant serum, it is proven with a 96% satisfaction rate to give you healthier, smoother and more youthful looking skin after 4 weeks.
How To Use:
Massage one pump of product onto clean, dry skin daily.
After all the crazy weather the UK has been having, my skin started to get horribly dry which for someone like me who has oily/combination skin is a real pain in the butt because all oily skin starts with being dry! The cold, harsh wind we were experiencing was drying my skin out which caused my current skincare products to not be hydrating enough (because they are specifically for oily skin), so I was on the hunt for a moisturising product that wouldn’t be too greasy!
I had seen this product advertised on TV and decided to check it out; it’s one of the more expensive Garnier products at £7.99 but it was on offer for £5.29 so I bought it. Even though it is for dehydrated/dry/normal skin, I purchased it because my skin had lots of dry patches and it contained anti-aging properties which would help reduce my fine lines which were showing up worse because of the dryness of my skin. Along with SPF/UVA/UVB protection for the warmer weather and other properties to help add vitality to my dull skin (again caused by the dryness), I was sold!
I’m a real big fan of products that come with a pump dispenser because this helps the product to keep for longer because external bacteria can’t get in, that and I just like the way that it looks and feels in my hand. It’s a decent size containing a good amount of product and it’s fairly light weight-wise. The pump is strong which means there is little chance of it breaking or getting clogged up.
One pump is more than enough to cover your face though you can apply more if you have dryer skin but I use this sparingly because of my skin-type. It’s a very light cream with a light fragrance that I connect to sun screen (probably because it has sun protection in it), though I personally can smell a slight metallic scent as well which has been getting slightly stronger the longer I keep the product; not sure if anyone else smells this as my boyfriend said he couldn’t smell such a thing so maybe it’s just me? I’m not a massive fan of the scent tbh but because it is only a subtle fragrance I overlook it.
It literally melts into the skin and doesn’t take very long to absorb, and it doesn’t leave a greasy or sticky feeling on the skin after. It says to avoid using around the eyes but I have and it doesn’t affect me at all (and my eye area is very sensitive) so I think this would be perfectly fine for people with sensitive skin; I’ve also noticed that since using this product my skin has been less sensitive to my night cream (which I really like but irritates my eye area).
4-5 weeks on and I still have product left! I didn’t notice much of a difference at first other than my skin being less dry but weeks on and I can say that my skin texture has definitely improved! My skin is much smoother and less dry which ofc is helping my fine lines to look less scary. The moisturiser also makes a nice base for my make-up and stops it from looking dry and patchy throughout the day, in fact it blends easier and looks more even.
Unfortunately it doesn’t stop my nose from getting greasier than normal, so I end up having to blot it with tissue at some point to remove the excess grease but since my skin is oily/combination and this cream isn’t suited to that skin-type then it’s to be expected. Other than that and the metallic smell, I quite like this product! My initial opinion was that I didn’t like it very much but after weeks of using it, I have seen the difference in my skin. I’m not sure that I’ll buy it again anytime soon but I will definitely keep it in mind should my skin get dry again. When I first started using it I was worried it was giving me spots, that could’ve just been because it was a) a new product, b) had no blemish prevention properties or c) because I was exercising and my body was purging rubbish via my skin; I’ve been using it for a bit now and I haven’t had many spots since.
This product actually reminds me a lot of the Neutrogena Multi-Defence Daily Moisturiser which I remember being a good product and I think I probably prefer it to this.
Overall I give this product a 3.5/5 stars! It loses some points because it makes my nose greasy and smells weird to me but I still like it and so do a lot of other users according to the reviews on the website! I hope you enjoyed this little review, until next time!~♥
