Super easy ‘Simple Kitty’ party make-up tutorial – Part 1

Hello everyone! Halloween is JUST around the corner, so in haste I thought it might be fun to throw together a super easy kitty tutorial! A little while back I saw a picture of someone wearing a similar look so decided to recreate it, it reminds me of the kitty features that you can add to your selfies on those cute phone editing apps!

With Halloween being on a monday (pain), it’s sucky that not only you got invited to a party/gathering by someone who decided to have the party on the day but you’ve been at work all day and don’t have enough time to prepare a detailed, complicated costume; or maybe it’s last minute and you didn’t have a lot of time to throw something together? This look is super easy to do last second and you’ll have everything you need (except maybe a pair of kitty ears which you can pick up real cheap in the Halloween section). It doesn’t even have to be for Halloween, you can wear this if you need a pocket-friendly look for a fancy dress party or one of those Fresher nights out at University where they have themed nights like ‘Noah’s Ark’.

This is my first ever ‘make-up tutorial’ so I wanted something real simple to do whilst I got comfortable with the idea of adding make-up tutorials to my blog’s content! I actually plan to do another 2 looks on the kitty theme, so it’ll become more obvious as to why this tutorial is SO easy. Anyway, let’s get on with it!p1160957So here I am! I’m wearing a simple black lace, off-shoulder dress with a simple black necklace and clip-on sequin kitty ears; I’ve curled my hair and already applied my foundation, concealer and brow make-up.p1160970Next up is the eyeliner! Draw on thick, cat-eye eyeliner with an obvious wing. I used the L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Perfect Slim eyeliner which is my favourite drugstore liner to date!p1160974Once the eyeliner is dry, it’s time to curl those lashes! This is going to help keep your lashes lifted after you apply mascara.p1160979The next step is to line your upper lash line with a waterproof eyeliner which will help your lashes to look thicker; it will also help you to see if there are any spots you missed with the eyeliner – I used the Maybelline New York Lasting Drama Gel 24hr pencil which lasts pretty well. For my mascara I used the Maybelline New York Colossal Volume Express Cat Eyes mascara which I really liked before and picked up again. It looks really nice on my lashes and doesn’t clump them!p1160990p1160993Taking a small detail brush and a shimmery pink eye shadow from my Coastal Scents Double StackPalette, I swept this on my bottom lash line. I then took a dark shimmery purple from the same palette and swept this on the outer corner of my lower lash line. This adds a pop of colour to your eyes; purple helps to make your eyes look whiter but I co-ordinated the colour choice with my cat ears!p1160997p1160998From the same palette I swept a bright, cute pink on the apples of my cheeks, keeping the look simple but cute at the same time.p1170003One thing I always like to do is apply extra concealer under my eyes because BAGS! I suffer with terrible dark circles so I always apply a little more depending on how I’m feeling at the end of my make-up. My favourite concealer to use is the Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear concealer, it blends really well and is super affordable!p1170011p1170015p1170022Next is the lips, my favourite part! I always find the lips seal the whole look and to tie this all in together I used a bright pink to match my eye make-up and ears. The first product is Revlon’s Just Bitten Lipstain and Balm pen in Passion as the base, before applying Etude House Sweet Recipe Dear My Jelly Lips-Talk in light pink!p1170030p1170037You can leave it there if you like or to really get into character you can add a cute button nose and whiskers! You can use whatever eyeliner you have if you don’t have face paint but I do so I’m using Snazaroo’s face paint in Black to draw on the features!p1170038And you’re done! TA-DA! Super easy and simple! I find that applying colour under your eyes is a cool way to liven up your make-up, it’s something I often do for nights out!

I had a lot of fun making this tutorial and I look forward to doing some more! Are you ready for Halloween? Unfortunately I don’t get much choice on what to be this year as we are having a zombie-themed party; zombies aren’t very exciting to me but oh well. Hopefully I’ll be able to put together a tutorial real quick for you guys on Sunday so you can see how I did my make-up for the party and it’ll be just in time for Halloween!

Do you think I did okay here?? Thanks for reading as always, until next time!!~♥
