Hello everyone, Christmas is SO close!! Are you ready?? I decided to do another Christmas-related post, this time with the chance for you to get to know me even more! I watched one of those Christmas questions tag YouTube videos and decided to do it myself only in a blog version! Let’s get started!
- What is your favourite Christmas film?
My favourite Christmas film just has to be Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. I’ve watched it ever since I was a child and the whole film is very Christmassy being set in New York at Christmas!
- Have you ever had a White Christmas?
Not from what I can remember. I do remember there being one Christmas as a kid where we had a flurry because I remember my mum getting excited and filming it but it didn’t even settle.
- Where do you usually spend your holiday?
At home with my dad. It used to be all of us but obviously people have grown up and moved out now so it’s just us but I always make a point of being there for the morning and dinner at least.
- What is your favourite Christmas song?
I think it’s ‘Mistletoe and Wine’ by Cliff Richard; I’m not a fan of his in general but that’s the song I always end up enjoying the most. I love the old classics like ‘Driving home for Christmas’ and ‘I’ll be home for Christmas’ too.
- Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
Nope! The only presents I ever open are the really small ones that are usually from friends or work colleagues but I don’t hold the tradition of opening a present on Christmas eve.
- Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Um…Dancer, Prancer, Donner, Vixen, Connor, Cupid, Blitzen, Dasher…How many does he even have? Is Rudolph an official reindeer or not? *checks internet* Oooo I was close, I mistook Comet for Connor and apparently Dancer and Blitzen were officially referred to as Dunder and Blixem! Wtf names are those??
- What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?
The only tradition I care about is being woken up by classic Christmas music floating up the stairs.
- Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Fake with powdered snow detail and get this, we don’t even decorate it because my dad liked how he decorated it one year so he just kept the decorations on and at the end of Christmas he wraps it in cellophane and puts it back in the shed lol.
- What is your all-time favourite holiday food/sweet treat?
Hmmm I guess Quality Street chocolates because that’s the only time anyone ever gets them.
- Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
Giving!! I take a lot of time and effort to find the perfect gifts for family and friends. I can where possible ask people what they want but for people like the boyfriend, I do like to surprise them with extras they didn’t expect to get. I take into account their interests and whether or not they would actually use the gift to help me.
- What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?
Honestly, I can hardly remember all the gifts I’ve ever received but one memorable gift I received as a kid was a pink Barbie remote controlled car that went forwards, backwards and had headlights; I absolutely loved it and immediately put my stuffed animals in to go on adventures…
- What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
Ooooo I think it would have to be New York, it would be amazing to see the city decorated for Christmas, visit the giant stores, Hyde Park and hope for snow!
- Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?
I wouldn’t say that I was amazing but I used to work in Hallmark/Thorntons so I was taught a specific way to wrap the chocolates and continue to use the method. I’d say I was a 7/10 because odd shapes still baffle me.
- Most memorable Christmas moment?
I don’t think I have any because my family is quite small and there’s no drama so I can’t say there have ever been any extremely special moments or terrible disasters that have been memorable at Christmas.
- What made you realize the truth about Santa?
I think I just gradually grew out of it, I have two older brothers and an older sister who obviously weren’t being treated like children waiting for Santa so eventually my parents stopped mentioning it and putting ‘from Santa’ on my presents; we never did the whole putting mince pies, milk and carrots out for Santa and his reindeer, or go to any lengths to make sure Santa could ‘get in’ the house so I guess I just realised that my parents were the ones giving me presents.
- Do you make New Year’s resolutions? Do you stick to them?
Since 2014 I made at least 3 resolutions and kept to them but this year I failed them miserably! However, I do plan to keep to them next year as although I failed them this time I did achieve a lot of other things in their place so I forgive myself lol.
- What makes Christmas special for you?
The festive run-up to Christmas and spending time with all of my family in one place whilst feeling festive!
- What was the worst gift you’ve ever received?
I can’t remember a time when I completely turned my nose up at something I had been given but I do have a pet hate for useless gifts. In my time I have been given scarf and glove sets 10+ years my age, fragrances that were not to my taste and countless of photo frames. The kind of bits and bobs that get left in the Christmas bag to be found under your bed a year later. I tend to take these to charity shops or give them to someone who would find better use out of it than me.
- What’s your least favourite part of Christmas?
The washing up.
- Who in your family is the hardest to buy for?
My nan because she says she has everything she wants and I just feel bad not getting her anything but at the same time I don’t want her to get something I hate – a useless gift.
So that’s my 20 questions done! Why not give it a try and see what your answers are? I tag you all! I’ll be back tomorrow with my final Christmas post, this time a fashion-related one! Until then next time, thanks for reading!~♥
